PICTURE FESTIVAL: DESSINER MATONGE WITH JEROEN JANSSEN
19 June 2021 - @Kuumba
The Ghent-based graphic storyteller and sketcher shares his secrets as he wanders through Matonge with his co-author, the Iranian storyteller Arezoo Moradi and with drawing enthusiasts. Winner of the Adhémar Prize in 2018, Jeroen Janssen is a sensitive witness of a changing world, whether it is the turmoil that Rwanda went through in the 1990s or closer to home, in Doel, a ghost village abandoned after the redevelopment of the port of Antwerp.
An illustrated walk in partnership with Kuumba vzw, the African-Flemish house. From 11 am to 5 pm
