There is still a lot of work to be done. Since this edition of OutSpoken, our monthly platform for spoken word, coincides with the International Day Against Racism, we would like to take this opportunity to speak out about it.

We wish the International Day Against Racism was unnecessary, but unfortunately racism and discrimination is still deeply rooted in all levels of our society. It is important that we do not look away from this. We need you to share your outrage, wishes or ideas for a better world. Come to the open mic and share your thoughts!

On this night we also welcome the young people who participated in our music stage 'Beats ft. Y'all.' They will present their own song. At 20:30 you can also watch the short film 'All under the same sun,' with stories about migration told by different witnesses.

[18:30 - 20:00] Writing session
[20:30] Film screening 'Allen onder dezelfde zon'

The short film 'Allen onder dezelfde zon' (All under the same sun) will be shown at our place on March 21st at 20:30 for International Day Against Discrimination. That evening, we’ll also have an open mic for spoken word. Come and share your thoughts! :)

On the short film:
How do you start a conversation about the challenges of immigration, whether you are an immigrant or not? Sometimes, people talk about others, instead of with them. We wanted to share different stories and views about what it’s like to be an immigrant, in front of a camera. Several stories will come online over the next few weeks. Keep an eye on our social media.
